Yoga

Yoga

Personalised yoga classes, at home or work, are excellent for building strength and flexibility, improving posture and breathing while releasing nervous tension and deeply reconnecting with one self.

Yoga brings together body and mind, providing focus and calm that continues to your ‘normal’ day.

Drawing on 18 years yoga teaching experience, I focus on understanding client goals, working with constraints such as time or injury, and developing personalised programs that give quick and long-lasting results.

The nine years I’ve spent with Jasmine as my yoga teacher have been the very best. Each Yoga class is a wonderful mix of familiar routine with something new or a challenge. No matter the weather or how unbalanced I am feeling, Jasmine adapts the class to suit the season and the cycles of the moon, so I always walk out feeling taller, stronger and relaxed.’ – Fran, Narrabeen, Sydney

I am skilled in multiple yoga styles including:

Hatha Yoga

Hatha yoga is the umbrella term for yoga that uses physical practices to achieve the goals of yoga. Hatha yoga is primarily practised in the West. It concentrates primarily on posture and breath. Hatha yoga is a good introduction yoga and the postures are easily adapted to suit any level of fitness.

The following are styles of Hatha yoga.

Ashtanga Yoga

Ashtanga yoga inspires fierce loyalty due to its vigorous and physically demanding athletic series of flowing poses. Ashtanga yoga gives students a strong, lean body, flexibility, clarity of mind and an invigorating energy boost.

Iyengar Yoga

Iyengar yoga places great importance on precision of alignment. It is ideal for beginners due to its highly instructional format. Iyengar yoga focuses on breath at a much later stage than other yoga styles. Through multiple poses Iyengar yoga unites body, mind and spirit making students strong, flexible, energised, calm and focused.

Satyananda Yoga

Satyananda yoga takes a very holistic approach, encouraging development of awareness of the self. Satyananda yoga also emphasises spirituality. Every class offers a variety of postures aimed at streamlining energy flow. Satyananda yoga is well suited to those attracted to the spiritual and philosophical aspects of yoga.
